Board Members
Briggitte Carlson, President of the Board of Directors, is an Associate at Sachnoff & Weaver in the litigation department. At both Sachnoff & Weaver and her previous firm, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Ms. Carlson assumed a leading role in In re: A.Z. and Z.Z., a six-year-long juvenile court battle in which she represented, in both the trial and appellate courts, a Mexican father deprived of custody of his children in violation of state, national, and international law. Through her work in In re: A.Z. and Z.Z., Ms. Carlson became involved with creation of the Family Defense Center and has been instrumental in securing pro bono assistance for the Family Defense Center from other attorneys in her firm. She is a 2001 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, and a 1998 graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she double majored in Spanish and Political Science.
