Learn about your legal rights and be a part of changing the system! The Family Defense Center Parent Empowerment Program joins parents who have had DCFS, juvenile court, or other child welfare system involvement and want to advocate for change. Parents meet once a month at the FDC office to discuss specific reform issues, address faults in the Illinois child welfare system, and share their own experiences. Please check back frequently, as we will be posting our recommendations for child protection reform shortly. Click here to download the Parent Empowerment Program brochure (PDF).
